Race Report 6
hey everyone im back in pasadena now starting to pack up my stuff for my flight
home, ive had 2 races lately last weekend we drove up to whilster for
a week, the place was orsome we rode till we were to tired to ride anymoreeach
day.
There were tracks everywhere, lauren had been there for a month so she showed
us around which was cool. We were there for the crankworks festival and we had
a race on the wednesday which was good i ended up 17th out of about 75pros which
i was pretty happy with and i managed to beat my teammate by 7 sec which was
good. After that we drove 25hours non stop
back to pasadena, worked on our bike then drove 10 hours the next day to the
Brian Head Norba.
This Race was really high up 11000 feet at the start of the
downhill, ive been mostly converted to miles and feet now, because
otherwise no one understands what im talking about over here. The track was really
good lots of rocks everywhere and a pretty hard rock garden in the middle.
It was pretty hard to race because there was a big pedal in the middle and
because of the altitude i got tired quick. I quailified 27th and went 5
sec faster in my race and finished 25th. i was pretty happy, ive managed to
stay on my bike for all my race runs since ive been over here which is alot
better than i normally do. I fly out tomorrow back to nz which im looking
fowerad to, Ive managed to by a Rx7 and i cant wait to get home and play
with it!
Thanks for all your Support
See ya al soon

fever.
Race Report 5
Hey everyone, we had a race at
sonoma at the weekend, about 45min from San Francisco.
The race was the the US nationals. The Tracks
were at a car
racing track, they had road races
on the car track then downhill
on the small
mountain behind. They track looked pretty
average the first day but as more people rode
it the track
got pretty good apart from a couple
of small sections that
were really narrow traversing
across the hill. It was really dusty and the corners got
pretty loose. I was quite enjoying it.
It was pretty short
you could see 90% of the track sitting in the pits. My race
went ok my time was 1 min 58 the winning time was 1 min 52.
Keiran and i were on the same second but we didnt see the
split times so we dont know who was fastest. As it was the
us nationals the
organisers didnt put any overseas riders in the results so
i dont no how i finished. On fri there were single seater
race cars out on the track that sounded pretty cool, so i
went and looked at them and they had 13b rotary
engines in them out of maxda RX8s which was pretty exciting,
The cars cost
about 120000usd to build and 40000 to run for the season! Im back
in pasadena now for a week before i head to canada
for a week and Whislter for Crankworks. Its a 25 hour drive
so
will be pretty boring

Hey i made it to brazil, it seems
pretty cool no one speaks any english my french is prob better
than
most peoples english. it ended up taking 7 flights and we
flew to sau paulo twice which was weird. the hotel seems
good we might move closer to the track tomorrow though. most
things
are really expensive which is dumb. weather is ok
not as warm as usa but it is winter here,
all the workers are wearing jackets and jerseys. lauren made
it to whilster ok which is good. thats
about all for now

Race Report 3
Hey everyone,
Just finished my
3rd race, the world cup at mount saint anne in canada. The
track was really cool, fast and rough it was about 5min long,
so was pretty hard work, thurs practice was really
wet i did a couple of runs and managed to wreck a derailer.
Fri was much better weather
the track was still wet but starting to dry out. I some how
managed to twist my fork guard which made the brake hose
go into the rotor and cut it in half on my first run which
was pretty annoying.
Raceday was pretty hot, i got pretty
lucky
in quailifing, there was about 160 riders and only the top
80 make it throughto start the final. i quailified 79th!
with less than half a second spare.
My race went pretty good i went 10sec faster than before
and finished 63rd.
I was pretty happy especially with the problems i had during
practice.
Tomorrow i fly out to brazil for my next race which will
be pretty fun.

Race Report 2
Hey everyone, i had my second norba last weekend at mount
snow, vermont. The track was realy fast and open and pretty
rough, lots of big fast turns
down the main ski runs. i really liked it my foes was working
really good, you could watch other bikes from the lift
and
you could see they werent working
aswell as mine, i had a couple of puntures during practice
and put a few dings in my back wheel.
The weather was pretty
good there was rain on and
off during the week, but it never really got the track
wet. Seeding went ok,
About 1/3 down my race run my derailer broke, sending it
into the wheel
and a had to DNF. It wasnt the result i was looking for.
The other kiwis hadbad luck aswell with Kieran getting a
front flat tire, and justin peelling his tire of the rim
in seeding, which meant he didnt make the top 70 for the
final. Im in mont saint anne now, getting ready for the world
cup.
which starts on thurs.

Race Report 1
Hey everyone,
We just had our first race of the season, it was at sugar
mountain in north carolina. I had my new bike which was pretty
good.
We didnt get to spend much time on it before the race, but
i learnt alot about how to set it up which was good. The
track was pretty technical lots of rocks and roots
then a fair bit of peddaling at the bottom.
The weather was
not to good, it rained on wednesday then again on sat night
before the race. Race day was sunny but still wet and muddy
in the trees. I managed to stay on my bike and ended up 26th.
Beating my seeding time by 24sec, which i was happy with.
Sam hill one by 13sec, with justin leov second. On wednesday
we head to Mt snow, Vermont for our second norba.

Tims report on 2005 National Race Series.
Oceania Champs Australia 3rd April 2005.
It was a long way to go for this International
race at Mt.Buller, a ski area some 4 hours from Melbourne.
Practice days were hard ( fast and dusty) but come race day
it all turned to custard. It was stormy with rain, fog and
cold for both seeding run and the race. The track was a river
and you couldnt see. Despite this I came away with 10th
overall and 75 UCI points.
National Championships Rotorua
26th February 2005.
My new 2005 Giant turned up the day after
I went to Auckland finals so was ready for action for Rotorua
the next weekend. The new model has some subtle differences
and felt good straight out of the box. The Rotorua track is
World champs in 2006 - It was brand new. It is challenging
all over but a bit peddly for me. Practice went well and I
managed 15th Pro-elite in the final to secure the last UCUI
point on offer.
Finals Auckland 19th February 2005
Travelled to Auckland Series final only
to have a hard landing during practice, cracking head tube
of the bike. In order to get series placing I rolled the start
of race 2 and ended up 11th overall for the championship.
Treble Cone 9th January:
Practised well during the week and managed
3rd Elite in seeding run. Sunday race day was disappointingly
wet finished 5th in Race one and 9th, after crash,
in Race two. Pleased with result in race one.
Christchurch15th January:
It couldnt have been more different
weather wise. Felt okay during practice but on race day couldnt
overcome the extreme heat and dust. Finished 15th Elite in
both races. Just want to put this weekend behind me.
Dunedin 22nd January:
Practice went well always good to
be on the home track. On race day the weather was fickle.
Some Elite got a clear first run but others affected by a
rain shower. I struck the rain and had an off for the 12th
Elite. Went better in race two but had mud tyres on and rode
too conservatively for 10th.
Blenheim 29th January:
A new track is always a challenge. Felt
pretty good and happy with the track, despite rain overnight
before the track track dried out. Happy with 8th in the first
race followed by 11th in race two .
